2nd Annual Symbiosis Gathering
21-25 September 2006 . Angels Camp, CA, USA

2006 was the second year of the annual Symbiosis Gathering... A 4-Day Permaculture Intensive opened the space and began an eco-logical and ethical preparation of the land. During the event, over 90 musical acts from 6 continents performed on 3 stages. A vast array of visual art decorated the area, from lighting effects to a full visionary art gallery. Altars and shrines of all kinds provided places for both grounding and liftoff experiences. An Equinox Ritual attuned all present to the natural cycles of the season. Healing Space Practitioners and Yoga groups provided holistic rejuvenation. Speakers and Workshops provided opportunities for education and interaction. People from around the world camped together, danced together, and created together in the forest and field of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.

3-Day Pre-Event Permaculture Course - Featuring Natural Building, Alternative Energy, Herbal healing, and more.

MycoRemediation - Using mushroom cultures to soak up oil and chemicals left on the field from parked cars

Community Outreach : Road Restoration Fund - A $5 donation was collected from each car attending, then matched by Symbiosis Events, and matched again by the local landowners, in an effort to restore the local unpaved road leading to the event.

Green Vending - All of the food vendors featured 100% organic food and beverages, as well as re-usable or biodegradable dishes and cutlery.

Eco-Art Installations - Made from recycled, scavenged, and natural materials

Community Education - Speaker Dave Blume discussed Alternative Fuel Sources and Permaculture, with other workshops and speakers on a variety of topics.

Green Printing -All of the printed materials, from flyers to tickets, were printed on 100% recycled or hemp paper, using non-toxic inks.
